Had I been born a wolf …

I’d be free to roam the wilderness

Without care or concern for shelter,

Living in the moment, feeling the now.

Running wild with the wind,

Fur wet and moist

Admiring and howling at the moon.

Living with a loving family,

And even when alone, never feel lonely.

Chasing experiences and be free

To make my own path, even

Facing a dangerous existence.

If I am to face the dangers of humanity,

Having to work hard for food,

Following many nonsense social rules,

I might as well been born a wolf.

It would at least have been a shorter life.
