Gigantic Odyssey: The Dog, the Granny and the Little Girl

Great honour in mighty visit
From Giants of distant land
Descending down the beanstalk
In Liverpool’s golden sand.

Remembering the one event
That started 100 years ago
At the dawn of the Great War
Affecting Liverpool high and low.

A Grandmother searched the city
For the Little Girl and her dog,
Nothing was bound to stop her
Not even our famous fog.

She walked with her stick
Taking time to drink and rest,
With her wheelchair at hand
She was bound to pass this test.

She’s supported by her servants,
Lilliputians in velvet gowns,
Guiding her through the city
Perhaps losing some pounds.

On a parallel place
The Little Girl was rather busy,
With Xolo being so playful
Making the crowds rather dizzy.

The girl walked and danced
At the sound of tunes nearby,
While Xolo peed in a car,
There’s no reason to be shy.

The finale was a wonder
When all 3 giants finally met,
At the shadow of Liver Building
Grandmother read a letter, we wept.

The letter had been written
By a man from Liverpool
Who being called to the war
Met a fate rather cruel.

This was an amazing sight
Lasting around 3 days,
Thousands of people gathering
Marvelling with great praise.

Temporarily forgetting
That behind those giant screens
Were engineering miracles,
with souls and not just machines.
